Trying to keep up with all of the injuries around the Yankees lately is going to make me sick.
After placing CC Sabathia on the disabled list Sunday, the Yankees announced today that reliever Shawn Kelley would be placed on the DL with a continuing back problems. Adding to that, Carlos Beltran has bone spurs in his elbow, and I find it hard to believe that surgery won't happen.
Even more to talk about, Ichiro is dealing with some back soreness, and won't be able t play tonight against the New York Mets; however, Mark Teixeira and his slightly tight groin are in the lineup tonight, as the DH, but we should still be watching that.
More importantly, the Yankees need wins. Simple as they. They've been struggling lately, and last night's loss was their fifth in a row at the hands of the Mets, so tonight is a big game for starter Vidal Nuno and the rest of the Bombers. Let's just get this one, guys. And while you're at it, stay healthy, too.
Tonight's lineup against New York:
- Brett Gardner LF
- Derek Jeter SS
- Jacoby Ellsbury CF
- Mark Teixeira DH
- Brian McCann C
- Alfonso Soriano RF
- Yangervis Solarte 3B
- Kelly Johnson 1B
- Brian Roberts 2B
