Quick Take Yankees Draft.

With the 55th selection of today’s draft, the Yankees took LHP Jacob Lindgren. Lindgren, is considered to be a reliever and has the type of stuff that suggests he will fly through their system. He might even have an outside chance of making it up this season, though next year is far more likely. He is a hard thrower, who has a good slider.  Kendal Rogers had this to say about the pick.@Yankees take #MSState LHP Jacob Lindgren at No. 55 overall. Lindgren is up to 95, has a wipeout slider. Great pick. #MLBDraft.

I feel that they could have gone for a player with a lot more upside like Forbes, but overall this is a good pick. Both Fred Lewis and Cesar Cabral have struggled this year, and there’s nothing wrong with picking a sure-fire relief prospect, especially a lefty.

I will have a more detailed report on him tomorrow, but for now I’m pleased with the pick, even if they could’ve taken a risk.
