AAA Scranton: GM 1 (0-3 loss versus Syracuse)

  • RF Ramon Flores: 0-3, 1K.
  • 3B Scott Sizemore: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 K. Can’t imagine him not making a major league team in May. If not the Yankees, he will probably opt out.
  • LF Zoilo Almonte: 0-3, 1 K.
  • DH Russ Canzler:  0-3, 1 K.
  • 1B Corban Joseph: 0-3.
  • CJ.R. Murphy: 0-3.
  • 2B Jose Pirela: 1-3.
  • CF Adonis Garcia: 0-3, 1 K. Also had an outfield assist, at home plate.
  • SS Zelous Wheeler: 0-2, 1 K. Also had a fielding error.
  • RHP Chase Whitley: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K. Was good out of the rotation last year.
  • RHP David Herndon: 1.1 IP, zeroes across the board, 2-1 GB/FB Ratio.
  • RHP Graham Stoneburner: 3 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 K. 4-1 GB/FB Ratio. Was slated to start yesterday’s game, so it’s still possible that he is a starter.

AAA Scranton: GM 2 (5-0 win versus Syracuse)

  • CF Ramon Flores: 0-3, 1 RBI.
  • DH Scott Sizemore: 0-3, 1 BB, 2 K
  • RF Zoilo Almonte: 1-4, 3 K.
  • 1B Corban Joseph: 1-4.
  • 2B Jose Pirela: 0-3.
  • 3B Zelous Wheeler: 2-2, 2 R, 2 2B.
  • C Jose Gil: 0-2, 1 R.
  • LF Antoan Richardson:   1-2, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K
  • SS Carmen Angelini: 2-3, 1 R, 2 2B, 3 RBI. He had a good season last year, and might be a sleeper. He has missed so much time due to injuries that it’s easy to write him off, but who knows.
  • RHP Brian Gordon: 5 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 4-4 GB/FB Ratio.  Nice debut from a guy that wasn’t even on the roster before the game.
  • LHP Cesar Cabral: .1 IP, zeroes across the board.
  • RHP Yoshinori Tateyama: .1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB.
  • LHP Fred Lewis: .1 IP, 1 H, zeroes across the broad.
  • RHP Jim Miller:  1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K. Doesn't get a lot of attention, but he does have an outside shot of helping the Yankees this year.

Double-A Trenton (11-5 win versus New Hampshire). The team had an 11 run 3rd inning.  The inning featured a grand-slam from Gary Sanchez. This was his first homerun of the season. He hadn’t hit his first homer until game 9 last season, so hopefully he has an even better offensive year. While they won’t score 11 runs every game, this is a very good hitting team. The team has quite a few good hitting prospects and are going to be adding Tyler Austin to their lineup on Monday.

  • CF Mason Williams: 0-3, 1 R, 1 BB. Has reached base in each of the teams 4 games. Has 3 walks in that span.
  • LF Ben Gamel: 2-4, 1 R, 1 K.
  • 3B Rob Segedin: 1-3, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K. Hit Trenton’s first homerun of the year.
  • DH Gary Sanchez: 1-2, 2 R, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K.  His homerun was a grand-slam. He has 3 walks in 4 games. His BB% was a career low in A+, so hopefully this is a sign that he will be patient again.
  • 1B Zach Wilson: 1-4, 1 R, 1 K.
  • RF Yeral Sanchez: 1-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K.
  • C Francisco Arcia: 1-4, 1 R, 1 3B, 2 RBI, 1 K.
  • 2B Dan Fiorito: 0-4, 1 R, 1 K.
  • SS Ali Castillo: 1-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI.
  • RHP Joel De La Cruz: 6.1 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 11-4 GB/FB Ratio.
  • RHP Manny Barreda: 1.2 IP, zeroes across the board, 2-1 GB/FB Ratio.
  • RHP Aaron Dott: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 K, 2/0 GB/FB.

A+ Tampa Yankees: (5-8 loss versus Lakewood).

  • CF Jake Cave: 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B.
  • SS Cito Culver: 1-5.
  • DH Eric Jagielo: 1-5, 1 R, 1 RBI, 3 K.  First hit of the season. Hopefully he limits the k’s as he gets adjusted to the level, as he has had quite a few this season.
  • RF Peter O'Brien: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 K.
  • 3B Dante Bichette Jr.: 0-4, 1 R, 1 K.  First game without a hit.
  • 2B Angelo Gumbs: 1-4, 1 R.
  • LF Yeicok Calderon: 0-2, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K.
  • 1B Reymond Nunez: 2-4, 2 RBI.                  Made a throwing error.
  • C Trent Garrison: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB. Made a fielding error, but also threw out a basestealer. Nice offensive game from a player people consider a defense first catcher.
  •   LHP Dan Camarena: 4.1 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 5-4 GB/FB Ratio.  Had a pickoff at first. Decent first game from him, but it’s clear that his defense weren’t doing their job for him.
  •   RHP Zach Woods: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K, 0-2 GB/FB Ratio.
  •   RHP Kris Haynes: 2 IP, 5 IP, 2 ER, 1 K, 4-1 GB/FB Ratio.
  •   RHP Alex Smith: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 1-1 GB/FB Ratio.

Low-A Charleston: (4-1 win versus Augusta)

  • SS Tyler Wade: 0-4, 1 BB, 2 K.  Had his first fielding error.
  • CF Brandon Thomas: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K.
  • RF Aaron Judge: 1-3, 2 R, 1 BB.
  • 1B Mike Ford: 2-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 K.
  • 3B Miguel Andujar: 3-4, 1 2B, 3 RBI. Really struggled making contact before today—5 k’s in 12 at-bats—so it’s nice to see him have a good game.
  • C Eduardo de Oleo: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 K.
  • DH Michael O'Neill: 0-4, 3 K.
  • 2B John Murphy: 0-4.
  • LF Mikeson Oliberto: 0-3 1 BB.
  • Brady Lail     6.0 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 9-3 GB/FB Ratio.   Nice debut, it’s good to see that they pushed him to this level, and didn’t keep him in extended. This is a really deep staff.
  • Cesar Vargas 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 2-1 GB/FB Ratio.  If he’s being moved to the pen, I can’t imagine he’ll be at this level for long.
  • Nick Rumbelow: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K 2-0 GB/FB Ratio. Rumbelow could also be a fast mover.
