AAA Scranton gets crushed 7-1 versus Rochester.

  • 2B Jose Pirela: 0-3, 1 R, 1 K.
  • CF Adonis Garcia: 0-4, 1 K.
  • RF Ramon Flores: 2-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 HR 1 RBI. Has a .797 OPS this year, and a .833 OPS in his last ten games. He has one homer and 5 doubles in his last 8 games. He’s still considered young for this level and he’s showing power, so it might just be that he has discovered his pop, which was the one thing stopping him from becoming a serious prospect.
  • 3B Scott Sizemore: 2-4. Has struggled as of late, which is a shame because the team might need him.
  • 1B Kyle Roller: 0-3, 1 BB, 2 K.
  • DH Zelous Wheeler: 0-4, 1 K.
  • 2B Dean Anna: 0-3, 1 BB.
  • C Austin Romine: 0-4, 1 K. First game back since hurting his hand.
  • LF Antoan Richardson: 2-2, 1 BB.
  • RHP Brian Gordon: 4.0 IP, 8 H, 6 E, 4 BB, 3 K, 2/3 GB/FB Ratio.
  • RHP Mark Montgomery: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 2/0 GB/FB.
  • RHP Danny Burawa: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 1/0 GB/FB. Still hasn’t allowed a run, has a few games where he loses control, but overall he should be in the majors soon. Once Pineda gets back both he and Ramirez could form a really good bullpen.
  • RHP Diego Moreno: 1.0 IP, zeroes, 2 K 1/0 GB/FB.
  • SHP Pat Venditte: 1.0 IP zeroes.

AA Trenton defeat Richmond 6-1, with the help of some major prospects, and former top picks.

  • CF Mason Williams: 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 SB. Missing four games for an undisclosed reason may have really helped him.
  • LF Ben Gamel 1-5, 1 R, 1 RBI.
  • 3B Rob Segedin 0-3,1 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP.
  • C Gary Sanchez 4-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI. Has been a very long slump, so hopefully this is the end of that. He was so bad that he made the BA not so hot list.
  • DH Peter O`Brien 0-5, 2 K.
  • RF Slade Heathcott 2-4, 1 K, 1 CS. First steal attempt of the season.
  • 1B Tyler Austin 0-4, 2 K.
  • 2B Rob Refsnyder 2-4, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 HR. Seconding multi-hit game in a row, his season OPS is approaching .800.
  • SS Carmen Angelini 0-4, 1 K.
  • LHP Jeremy Bleich: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 K, 7/2 GB/FB. 4th best performance in the minors by game score. He has strung a few really good starts in a row, and it might be time to put him in AAA. The team has plenty of space in their AAA rotation, and it might be time to cut Gordon.
  • LHP Tyler Webb: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 WP, 1/0 GB/FB.

High-A Tampa Yankees: defeat Jupiter 9-6. The team is without Gumbs and Feliz, as both are now on the disabled list.

  • CF Jake Cave: 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B. Has a 10 game hit streak. Has a 1.014 OPS during that span, with 3 doubles and one homer.
  • SS Cito Culver: 4-5, 3 R, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 SB,  1 E. Starting to hit a little. Has a .708 OPS in his last 10 games, which is probably good enough for him, as he is a really good defensive shortstop. A
  • 1B Greg Bird: 0-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K. Has a 11 ks and 14 walks so far this season. Has a .891 OPS. He spent an entire season at A Ball last year, so maybe the team would be willing to push him to AA this season. Though they have a while to even consider something like that.
  • 3B Dante Bichette Jr.: 3-5, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 1 E. Had been struggling, but his last 3 games suggest he is breaking out of that. Has back-to-back 3 hit games, and is showing some power again. Has a .815 OPS on the year. Jag’s injury will let him get more comfortable at third.
  • DH Matt Snyder: 1-3, 1 BB, 1 HBP. Has a .721 OPS in 8 games, the recent string of injuries will give him more playing time.
  • RF Zach Wilson: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 HBP
  • C Trent Garrison: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K.
  • LF Cody Grice: 1-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 CS (3), fielding error (2)
  • 2B Claudio Custodio: 1-4, 1 R, 1 SB.
  • LHP Eric Wooten 5.0 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 3 ER,1  BB, 2 K, 11 GB/2 FB. Great ratio, too bad his defense is pretty sloppy. Would probably be the first starter on this level to great a promotion to AA.
  • RHP Nick Goody: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 0/1 GB/FB
  • RHP Stefan Lopez 2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K. 4/1 GB/FB.
  • LHP James Pazos: 1 IP, zeroes, 3 K. 12.1 straight innings without giving up an earned run.

Low-A Charleston RiverDogs defeat Hickory 6-3.

  • LF Michael O`Neill 1-4, 1 R, 2 K, 1 HBP.
  • SS Tyler Wade 1-4, BB, K, CS (6)
  • RF Aaron Judge 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI. .956 OPS in his last ten games, has shown more power lately and has 156 at-bats at this level. Last year Jag’s had 200 at-bats at Staten Island and that’s why he was put in A+. So if it was an at-bats thing, Judge should be moving up very soon.
  • DH Mike Ford 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI. .859 OPS in his last 10 games, .857 OPS on the year, I’d say he could move up with Judge, but the A+ already has quite a few DH/1B players.
  • 3B Miguel Andujar 0-4, 1 R, 2 K. .729 OPS in his last 10 games.
  • 2B Gosuke Katoh 1-3, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI – First homer of the year,
  • CF Dustin Fowler 1-3, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB. First stolen base of the year for him. Surprised he was pushed to this level, he must have had a really good performance at extended spring training.
  • C Kale Sumner 0-4, 1 R, `1 RBI, 2 K.
  • 1B/2B John Murphy 0-3,1 R, 1 BB, 1 K. Moved to first when Rosario went down. Kotah then went to second.
  • RHP Brady Lail: 5 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K, 8/1 GB/FB. Was put on helium watch by BA, which makes sense considering his recent performance. This team really has a few pitching prospects that are performing really well.
  • RHP Phil Walby: 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 WP, 1/0 GB/FB
  • RHP Chris Smith: 2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 K, 2/0 GB/FB.
